Gerry has had a lifelong interest in Genealogy and Local /Family History. He holds a BSc in Mutual and Community Business from University College Cork. He spent his working life in the Department of Social Protection where he worked as an Inspector, Area Manager and Regional Coordinator. In 2005 he obtained an MA in History of Family from the University of Limerick. While he has had over thirty years involvement in local history and genealogy he has been working full time as a genealogist for the past number of years.

Gerry has also published articles on his local area in The Other Clare magazine. He is co -author ofTracing your Clare Ancestors (2013).

He is an active member of Clare Roots Society and a founding member of Heritage Inchicronan and has recently published the Crusheen Parish baptism records for 1860 -1880 online on

Gerry has been a member of the Society of Genealogists [London] since 2010

His specialist research area is Co Clare and south Co Galway but he has undertaken research nationally. As well as offering a professional genealogical advice and research service, Gerry also researches house and building histories.
