Areas of research: Genetic Genealogy
Margaret’s background is in science and mathematics and she holds a BSc. Honours degree and a Higher Diploma in Education. She taught in a second level school until 2006 and became a professional genealogist in early 2009.
Margaret started researching her own family tree in 1997 and has used genetic genealogy extensively in this pursuit. She is experienced in using autosomal DNA and y-chromosome DNA in tracing family lines and she is involved in managing the Ireland yDNA Project and the O’Shea yDNA Project.
